Sleeping on Quilting Racks!

December 21, 2012    Sophie is just finishing up decorating her cabin for Christmas.  Most of her decorating was done using Christmas quilts displayed on quilting racks through out the cabin.   In just a couple of days my family will be headed North to the newly decorated cabin on Lake Gogebic.  I have enjoyed every minute of taking an empty shell of a cabin and making it warm and cozy.  When I think of staying at a cabin in the winter, my thoughts are coming in from the cold, curling up with a quilt by a crackling fireplace, drinking hot chocolate and watching it snow.   Having my quilts displayed on  quilting racks makes them easy to grab and use to keep warm. I am just finishing up the two guest rooms and all the beds have a quilt on them that I have made. Beds make great quilting racks, what an easy way to show off a quilt and it's also a great option for storing quilts without needing to fold them. The quilt in this bedroom is one of my favorites.  I found the kit for it while on a road trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota.  When I walked into the quilt shop they had this quilt displayed behind the cutting table.  It was one of those quilts you knew from the minute you saw it, that it was going home with you to hang on one of your quilting racks and I'm glad it did.   This bedroom is going to be called Santa's room.  I have his sleeping attire waiting for him if he wants to take a nap before heading back to the North Pole after his busy night.  I hope whoever ends up sleeping in this room is cozy and warm. Wishing you and your family a Wonderful Christmas from the shores of Lake Gogebic!   We welcome your comments, which can be created by using the "Leave a Reply" box below.
